Hi
I have created a folder XI_TEST in my XI server. I had put a text file in the folder. I am connecting through VPN to XI.
1. Should I have to map any drive or just VPN after connection will take care of sharing?
2. I could access the folder from my system through Start->Run->
XISERVER.
3. What should I give in the source and target directory in File Adapter?? I have tested E:\XI_TEST and also just //XISERVER/XI_TEST for NFS transport protocol.
But no message is found in the sxmb_monitor. My adapter monitor shows green for both sender and receiver adapters(FILE).
Please advice..
Thanks

You have created XI_TEST on your XI Server right.
<b>1. Should I have to map any drive or just VPN after connection will take care of sharing?</b>
Nope you dont need to map any of your local drives
<i>2. I could access the folder from my system through Start->Run->
XISERVER</i>
Good.
<i>3. What should I give in the source and target directory in File Adapter?? I have tested E:\XI_TEST and also just //XISERVER/XI_TEST for NFS transport protocol.</i>
You should put <b>
XISERVER\XI_TEST</b> or <b>E:\XI_TEST</b>
and make sure your file name is correct, Filename should exactly match with the name in the adapter. It is case sensitive.
Chcek whether your Receiver Adapter is activated properly.
http://<host>:5<sysnumber>00/mdt/amtServlet XI > SP09
http://<host>:5<sysnumber>00/AdapterFramework <= SP09
You can see whether Adapter is in green status or not

Actually as I told earlier - both adapters are green and they say - up and running.
But I dont see the files being pulled - as there are no messages in the message monitor.
File names are correct and same.
Also I am not able to assign points - i dont see those buttons...When i see those, i will come back and always assign points..
Thanks

Please see below the status of receiver and sender adapter.
I did put the file in the directory and the polling interval is 2 secs.
FileReceiver_File1 Receiver Adapter v1027 for Party '', Service 'FileReceiver':
Configured at 22:52:18 2005-10-06
Up and running - no message processing until now
FileSender_File1 Sender Adapter v1014 for Party '', Service 'FileSender_File':
Configured at 22:52:18 2005-10-06
Up and running: Last message processing started 23:43:40 2005-10-06
last poll interval started 23:43:40 2005-10-06
length 2,000 secs
Thanks for the help
There you go. Your file is picked up and sent it to the Integration Engine.
If you do not see the message in the Integration Engine, check the status of the message in the Adapter Engine. To check it RWB -> Message Monitoring -> Select the Adapter Engine and check what is the error in the message.

Transmitting the message to endpoint http://XISERVER:50000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection AFW failed, due to: Received HTTP response code 404..
This is the message I find with ERROR status. Before this step all the other steps show Success
Thanks

Your pipeline URL is incorrect.
Go to SLD and change your XI business system pipeline URL to http://XISERVER:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
do you use gmail talk ? my id is xiconsultant@gmail.com

Hi Thilothama
Your pipeline url port is wrong.
Currently it is shown as,
http://XISERVER:50000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
Actually it should be,
http://XISERVER:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
The place you change your pipeline url is,
SLD -> Business Landscapes -> Your XI system -> Pipeline URL.
Also in case you still get an error after this change. Just do a full cache refresh, you do this by accessing the following url,
http://XISERVER:50000/CPACache/refresh?mode=full
cheers
