i18n/translation of WD ABAP label/text

Hi All,

I am new to WD ABAP development and want to know the procedure to make my application language independent.Basically I want my UI elements to be in German or French .

I am new to ABAP as well.I went through this forum and found something called OTR and aliases.But being a novice in ABAP,can't make out where to start.Can anyone help wiht a step by by step explanation,

What I basically want is,instead of using hard coded text in the view for label,if I can use something like the text elements(?) in ABAP,that would be great.
