In ECC 6.0 we can do it by checking the attachments in the delivery or shipment document types.Later when we will be creating a document the on top left hand corner in the application bar we can find a symbol through which we can attach file of any format.
Yes you can use document management to achieve this. We are using DM to keep master records (to store temperature controllers details) that needs to print along with packing lists.
