Hi gurus,
I have a very basic query on Sol Man terminology.
1. Logical Component - what is it? Why its used? What is its relevance to the satellite systems I would add to Sol Man system?
2. What is a Solution? How is it related to the satellite systems?
Any help would be help.
Thanks
Abdul
Hi Abdul,
A logical component is a placeholder for a true component in your system landscape.
For instance SAP R/3.
To this logical component you link your satellite systems with their details.
For instance Dev SAP R/3 Client 100, Production SAP R/3 etc.
The logical component you use everywhere you need to reference your R/3 system.
This way, if your actual R/3 satellite system location or version changes you only have to change it in one place.
A solution contains the systems in your system landscape. Which systems you combine in one solution depends on your business processes. All systems that are touched by your business processes are combined in one solution. The business processes refer to the satellite systems through the logical components.
