Problem in Shutting down sap in the application server

Hi gurus,

We have bw system containing two servers, one is database server the other one is application server. There is no cluster. Operating system of both system is Windows 2003 server 64 bit.

A few weeks ago we set the firewall on both systems of course we entered the exceptional ports. The system started not to be able to shutdown the sap in the application server when the firewall is on at this system. But the same firewall settings are active on the database server and we face no problem with that. When we set the firewall off at the application server, the offline script shuts down without a problem. I am suspicious about missing a port exception on the application server.

Also the script command is as below:

d:\usr\sap\BW3\SYS\exe\run\stopsap name=BW3 nr=01 sapdiahost=bw3nt04

(our system SID= BW3 and hostname: bw3nt04)

Any suggestions?

Check dev_msg and dev_disp or paste here.

Check hostname entries in /etc/host (unix) or ...\drivers\etc\host.

Do you get an error message? Can you find anything in the log file?
