SAP introduced a new concept to define SAP workflows with out any external coding.
BRF comprises Events which are assigned to business objects (ie BUS2121, etc).
Each evnt will be having number of rules in the form of Expressions. Expression is nothing but business rule like what should happen when event is raised. It is just a formula editor to define If and then conditions.
Go to http://help.sap.com to get more info on BRF.
