Sending an alert to UWL from PI.

Hi,

I have done following configurations in UWL and PI.

_UWL:_ 1.Created a system( dedicated application server).

2.Connection tests were succesful.

3. User mapping was done. ( Portal user ID and PI user ID are different)

4. Registered the system alias in UWL administration.

PI: 1. Created an Alert category.

2. Given my user ID ( for which mapping has been done in portal) as fixed receipent.

3. Executed the RSALERTTEST program.

I am able to see the alert my portal inbox. But unable to see it in the portal.

Please help me in solving this issue.

Hi Vishnu!

I don't understand - you say, you can see the elrt in the portal inbox (UWL), but unable to see it in the portal..(?)

So can you see it or not?

Hi peter,

I have done the configurations to link UWL and PI. When I create an alert it has to be reflected in UWL. But it's not. I think there would be some configuration problem in linking UWL and PI. So, I want to know what would be the mistake I have done?

I am able to the alert in the alert inbox of PI not UWL.

Vishnu, there will be definetely problem in your connection config from the portal side. If you see the alert in the Alert inbox, XI is working fine. But this is wrong forum for such question, try the Portal forums.

Why don't you think there would be a problem in connecting UWL from PI?

If I'm not wrong, UWL is connecting the system and extracting data from it. You have only one UWL, but it can work with multiple SAP systems. So it is not that way, that SAP systems send their messages (workflow tasks, alerts, ...) into portal's UWL, but UWL connects to those systems and reads these messages there and displays them.
