problem in display of layout editor of view

Hi gurus,

I am new to Web dynpro for abap technology..When I am trying to see the layout of the view 'Page cannot be displayed is showing'....why i am getting this...

The same thing is happening when i am trying to test a web dynpro application..i am coppying the url in the address bar but again 'Page cannot be displayed' is showing..

I am also unable to understand anything from online help...

Please provide with a solution....

Hi Sweta

Did your problem get resolved . Your problem is with the *Host file located in your computer in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

What is the name , IP address of your WAS server and what is the domain name.

Suppose IP is 172.168.1.19 , name is WASSERVER and your company’s domain is prospecta

Just Open this file in notepad and add an entry in it

172.168.1.19 WASSERVER.prospecta

Note : There is tab delimiter after IP address . Your problem will be resolved . I am 100 percent sure . if it would get resolved please let me know and I will make sure that it will be resolved

Mind it it should be fully qualified domain

hi sweta......

you need to give your domain name and port number in the host file located in teh c:/
