Hello,

Go to the path /usr/sap/SID/INSTANCE/igs/bin

Give a command:

startigs -p /usr/sap/SID/INSTANCE/igs

To stop:

stopigs

Hope this helps.

Many thanks.

Thanks & Regards,

Vijith

Hi,

a few remarks regarding the suggestion of Vijith:

This works only on non Windows platforms and only for IGS release 640. But there it would work when executed with user <sid>adm.

Hi Guru,

first of all it is not recommended to start the IGS from command line on Windows because when the command line is closed or the user logs out the IGS will be shut down. IGS 6.40 exists in a standalone version where you can install the IGS as NT service. But if you want to do it without taking care of my hints above you can take a look in the start profile and see how the SAP MMC willl start the IGS.

Best regards

Matthias
