While Installing ERP 2004 on WIndows 2003 and Oracle 9.2 7th patch i am getting the follow error.

The ORA-1403 is not a problem, i have seen that happen before, and everything was ok.

Your problem are these messages:

(DB) INFO: DbSlControl(DBSL_CMD_NLS_CHARACTERSET_GET): WE8DEC
(TSK) ERROR: file C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\ECC_50_ABAP_NUC\DB/SAPSSEXC.TSK.bck already seems to exist
a previous run may not have been finished cleanly
file C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\ECC_50_ABAP_NUC\DB/SAPSSEXC.TSK possibly corrupted

Please check these files, try to move the *.bck files away and restart. Check if your disk drive is not full.

Edit: is it possible that the slash "/" in the file path should be a backslash ??? Under windows the sapinst might not be able to find that file...

Dear Michel,

Thanks For your Efforts in looking towards my problem.

I have already moved that file and tried to restart the Installation.

But as you mentioned i havent tried moving all *.bck files i have moved only that file which is mentioned in the log file.

Do i need to move all files u mentioned?

And the problem of "/" in that case i think we can not do anything from our side. Please advice if anything can be done in this case.

The .bck message might very well be only a warning, but it should be gone, after you moved them away.

But lets focus on the corrupted messages, can you please examine one of the TSK's, they should contain lines like these

T ATAB C ok
D ATAB I ok
P ATAB~0 C ok
T DBMAPS C ok
D DBMAPS I ok
P DBMAPS~0 C ok

ok means the import was succesfully, nok means the import still has to be done, err means the import stopped here with an error. Please check if there are strange linebreaks, characters or the like in the file.

Did all the imports fail, or only a few?

Everything is "ok"

Should i check all .tsk files (I have checked some of those ) ?

You don't need to check the ones which are ok, do the ones with errors. You can also check the import_monitor.log for lines like these:

Loading of 'SAPSSEXC' import package is interrupted with R3load error.

In this case check the SAPSSEXC.TSK and SAPSSEXC.log

I am not able to find the the file import_monitor.log

where it is located ? in the installtion dir in program files ?

or somewhere else ?

Hm, i possibly got this wrong, it might have another name, but it should be something like install.log or sapinst.log. The logs should all be under C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir ...

And there are six log files by name sapinst.log, sapinst1.log .....sapinst6.log

I dont know what to do ?

Have you looked inside the log files that it is telling you too?? what errors are in those files?

Hi

The above erroes from those files am not able to rectify the problem

Hi again

Two more things:

- could you please logon as the user ssmadm and recheck the *.TSK files, for example SAPSSEXC.TSK. It could be some kind of permission problem between your installation user and the SAP service user. Please do also check if SAPSSEXC.TSK and SAPSSEXC.TSK.bck's are identical or not.

- i suggest to open a OSS message, if not already done, just to get the official support into this
