Hi Experts,
Can someone let me know what does Consignmetn stock accounting is for and in which purview it comes in....
Thanks & Regards
Rohit.
Dear rohit
Your question is not clear as to what exactly you want.
Generally, Consignment handling is for processing consignment goods, that is, goods that are stored in the customers warehouse but that still belong to your company. The customer does not have to pay for the goods until they are withdrawn from the consignment stock. Consignment goods which are not needed can, as a rule, be returned. Because the consignment stock is still part of your evaluated stock, you have to keep stock records for it in your system. Consignment stocks must:
=> Record the consignment stock separately from other stocks, in order to keep an overview of what is in the customers warehouse.
=> Record separate stock levels for different customers

Hi Lakshmipati,
Thanks for the info but the problem is we are working oona report which sens a CONSIGMENT STOCK ACCOUNTING REPORT . Now what i want to know is that to which module does it belong.......does it comes under SD purview or not !!!
Hope this clarifes the Question.
Thanks & Regards
Rohit
Dear rohit
It differs from company to company. Normally, finance people will handle all inventory matters including consignment stocks. Of course, SD people can also handle it.
But from auditors point of view, FI people should have all these datas. If they dont have, they have to coordinate with sales team and get the required report.
Thanks
G. Lakshmipathi
