Message Archiving and deletion question

Hello,

I am working on the message archiving and deletion setup and working with security team on ths.

My question is, Once the message is deleted from archive Is there a way to view that message in XI using the log files or some log table?

When we define the retention periods, what is the meaning of last option 'History entries for Deleted XML messages'.

Are there any log tables in XI where we can go and look into the message content? Please let me know the table/file names? I think there should be some log fiels for every message processed. Where is that stored and how to view that data?

Hi Hari,

we can see all log files in logviewer tool.

log files path: /usr/sap/system id/j2ee/cluster/devbmsg/log

or u can see all log files in the following url

http://hostname:j2ee port/nwa.

thanks for the info. How do I access the log viewer tool? Do I need to go to the physical path and open the file with text editor or something... Please advise.

and also let me know how to clean up these log files. Any batch programs we can schedule for regular clean up. Any help is greatly appreciated.

so you can see all the processed messages in SAMB_MONI ,

you go to this this tcode SXMB_MONI, give the sender and receiver name, and you can see all the processed messages with content.

Message Archiving and deletion means you delete the message from current folder and move it to the other folder for further use, but you can see message content in SXMB_MONI
