Hi,

is it possibile to do a system copy (from PRD to TST system) on Solaris/Oracle box with a brbackup on disk as source ? we have already backup our PRD system wit a brbackup with offline mode and tomorrow I would like to restore it as different <SID> to build a new TST system.

Until now I user brrestore on the same <SID>.

Where can I find documentation ?

Regards.

http://service.sap.com/systemcopy

you can "simply" copy the files of your backup to the target system after you´ve created new control files.

OK.... but I need other.

My source system is a brbackup off-line backupset... I can't copy directly datafile, log, ecc. of source system.

I look for on the net I find it: mount the brbackup backup set on target system, copy the logfile backup on sapbackup (/oracle/<Target-SID>/sapbackup) directory and run brrestore with logfile (bdkxxsrh.anf) as option as ora<SID> user. Brrestore know that source and target system are different and adjast path to restore on target <SID>.

cd /oracle/<Target-SID>/sapbackup

brrestore -m full -b bdkxxsrh.anf -c

Monted on the same mountpoint on target box, it works fine.
