How to access MDM system?

I want to send material data from the FTP server to MDM system.I dont know what format of data MDM system can understand. Can I create file to file interface. If so, then how to access the MDM system to send the data from the sender file system?

Hey

to integrate MDM with XI you need to use File adapter and not IDOC or RFC.

MDM although a product from SAP does not behaves in the same manner as ECC.

there is a series of blog to integrate MDM with ECC.

just search for part 1 and part 3 as well and do your scenario.

you will have a FTP(FTP server) to FTP(MDM) scenario

Thanks Aamir. I was not sure with MDM, never worked with it. Thought its just another R3 system.

Since MDM is an R3 based system, you would have to use either Idoc, RFC or proxy communication. Get in touch with the ABAPers working on the MDM system and ask them how would they want the data to come in, so that the would follow the business process on MDM side and post the data accordingly.
