Hi everybody,

is there any chance to trigger another message if an mapping-error occured?

(I do not want to use BPM for the exception handling).

We are sending IDOCs to XI, just in gthe case, that the mapping throws an error I want to send a SYSTAT-IDoc back.

Thanks

Regards Mario

Mario,

In standard, SAP XI triggers an ALEAUD IDOC as (error/success) Acknowledgement back to the sender system. Will this not suit your requirement?

In case of error, the IDOC will have a brief description of the error too..

Hi,

sorry I have miss-understood the scenario..

You can use Fault message Type to send the fault deatils, or can set up the Alert notification.

Hi,

In SXMB_Moni, there is option to restart the message.

You can select the failed message and restart to send it to receiver system.

Note: If the message is successfully send then you can't restart that message.

thanks

Well,

There is no direct bolg avaialble for Fault Message Type with IDOC scenario,

but there are few available for reference,

Fault Message type

If you could give me some more details about your scenario and requirment,

then probably I could be able to give you send some snap-shots from my system, which you could use.

thanks

In XI 3.0 with SP19 or above have SAP BASIS software component by default.

In this software component, the integration scenario SingleFlightBooking

have used IDOCs with Fault message type.

Probably this could help you.

Hi Swarup,

the fault message type is for sync scenarios. As I send a IDOC the fault solution is not appropriate.

Other ideas?

It would be very complicated to achive the Fault message with IDOC without BPM.

There is one way that probably you could try,

The SXMB_MONI contains the trace log for every message based on the steps processed in the interface.

You caould try to add the checkpoints at these steps e.g.

1. In Receiver determination, there is option to route the message to different receiver if the receiver system is missing in Receiver determination.

2. Can design the Adapter module to catch the exceptions with the connectivity with Sender / Receiver systems and handle it to raise any alert notification.

These kind of alternative ways have to be used to achive the requirments.

Note : I am not sure how much it will be feasible for the replacement of BPM.

Hi Swarup,

your suggestest workaround to find an alternative receiver if the mapping throws an exception is unfortunately not feasible. As we have some other receivers in the receiver determination one receiver will be found at least.

Thanks a lot for your inspirations!

Hi Yashaswee,

thanks for your reply. But as I told I want to trigger a new message (without BPM) , not an alert.

Thanks regards Mario
