Hi Gayatry,

2 ways:

1.Make number of spool workprocesses to 0 using RZ04 and RZ03.

2. Disable port 515.Do it by changing the services file.

This is an interesting question as SAP should have a solution to this. The soultions proposed are limited:

1) You cannot change the Spool Processes via SAP (i.e. RZ04)

2) Port 515 is the Unix spooler, we are using an OMS which doesn't go through the Spooler

Also what happens inside SAP if you do this? Have you tested this?

The goal for us is to temporarily stop the Spool during the Offline Backup of the OMS and then restart it without having errors in the Spool in SAP; i.e. the Spool picks up and kicks off anything in the Queue.

I don't think there is a solution as SAP does not support stopping the Spool.
