Hello all,
I am new to this SAP SD area. I have 3 years marketing experience and recently got a job in SAP SD module based on my domain experience.
I want to know what is the future of this SD module in the next 3-4 years. I have been hearing that someday in the future CRM is going to replace SD. Is it so?
If , yes, then what will happen to SD functional module .

I come from the manufacturing domain in the vertical of Solar Industry. I was there as a Territory In Charge for 3 years.
You are talking of Business processes. But, in terms of Sales the business processes are generally very common to other verticals also.
so, what is that i should learn from these processes.

Once you have mastered this there is an expertise which is learning the integration part with FI, MM, PP. Once you have learnt this you can jump to basic techniques of ABAP.
So in a nutshell what I want to say is that these are some of the scenarios as a SAP SD consultant you need to work on ( trust me it takes couple of years to be comfortable with all the topics and then you realize learning never stops).

Well I can understand your situation. This is a typical situation which lot of people face when they start working in the base modules like SD. MM, PP, ABAP etc. I feel the knowledge gain by working in this module cannot go waste. I mean broadly speaking you learn the sales aspects of business process of different verticals. Moreover all the companies who implemented SD module ( trust me there are tons of them) will always require you. So the best option is to gain as much business process knowledge as possible in different verticals.
