What is APO?
how it defers form R/3?
colud any body give brief discription on APO.
How it will linked to ABAPER.

Sap APO stands for advanced planning & optimization tool.It is one of the component of SAP SCM.As the name, in apo the results are optimised to the tune in terms of costs & capacities, the system will plan the orders considering the best available cost & the capacities across the planning chain defined in the system.
Modules in SCM APO
1) DP (Demand planning)
2) SNP (supply network planning)
3) PPDS (production planning & detailed scheduling)
4) GATP ( global availability to promise)
5) TPVS ( Transportation planning & vehicle scheduling)
When compared, R/3 is limited.You can check the differences module wise in the following link:
