XI Communication over RS232 port

Hi Experts,

Can XI communicate with a weighing machine having a RS-232 port and connected to the network? is a local PC required to be connected to the machine, or XI can directly communicate with the machine (probgably an internal database) and fetch the value.

Would appreciate any related help.

Hi,

As of now XI can not communicate through RS232 port. May be you can have local manchine attached to the machine and then have it fill some database tables or generate some text files from where XI can poll. In this case, XI has to be configured to act at near to real time values.
