Hi Dear Gurus,

I have recently Instaled SOLMAN 4.0 on windows with Mysql. I have configured the Maintainence optimizer and now its working fiine.

From my organization requirement they want to monitor ERP and BW systems from solution manager.

Can any one please tell me how to start regarding this.

And one more question is i am just wondering Central User Admin is different installation or we have to configure SOLMAN 4.0 to use CUA.

Many thanks for your time.

Kind Regards,

Vamsi.

Hi,

You first need to Setup landscape and create RFCs

[Data Collection|https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700004860052004E.sim]

[Create Systems|https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000894082006E.sim]

[Assign Logical Components|https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700002912242006E.sim]

Then Create Solution,

Then Setup Solution Monitoring

Hi Dear Ragu,

Many Thanks for your time.

Just wondering do we have to install the CCMS and configure it before doing the steps you have mentioned.

Please let me know if you have any idea about this.

I will fallow the steps as you said and once again many thanks for your time.

Kind Regards,

Vamsi

Hi,

That depends on which is your CEN system. I suggest you have SOLMAN as CEN.

You can proceed with landscape setup and RFC connections, which is the first thing you need to do.

Then for CCMS.

Under Microsoft Windows, the agent has been entered as a service and started. The agent is automatically restarted at every restart. If you have installed the CCMS agent under UNIX, the agent has not yet been started. Restart it using the appropriate command:

Agent

Start Command

SAPCCMSR

sapccmsr –DCCMS [pf=<profile path>]

SAPCCMSR –j2ee

sapccmsr –j2ee –DCCMS pf=<profile path>

SAPCCM4X

sapccm4x –DCCMS pf=<profile path>

SAPCM3X

sapcm3x –DCCMS [pf=<profile path>]

On a UNIX platform, you must also ensure yourself that the CCMS agent is automatically started after a restart of the server (for example, by entering the start command in INITTAB).

Hi Vamsi,

CUA is not a native part of the Solman Software Component but it's part of the Web Application Server and so it is included in every ABAP based system. It just needs to be configured via IMG. It makes sense to use Solman as central system for Central User Admin since you might have synergies and you save admin costs for a separate Web AS.

Regards

Andreas
