Hi all,
I can´t see the java instance icon in the sap management console, because of this I can´t start the j2ee engine of my was 6.40
The same happened to abap instance but I restarted the service with sapstartsrv.exe and now I can see it in sap console...
My question is...is there any executable to start j2ee engine...I tried with jcontrol but no way...
Can somebody help me??
Thanks!!
Hi,
Just to confirm. Under DVEBMGS<NR> j2ee file system and its subdirectories (cluster/server<NR>) are there and you don't see any entry in MMC. Is that correct ?
Also even without MMC you can start java instance with jcontrol. How did you try to start it with jcontrol ?

Hi Daniel,
Execute sapstartsrv.exe from one of the following paths
fill with your system details, select your START profile
from \usr\sap\<SID>\PROFILE\START*, use your Service user and password (your as <hostname>\SAPService<Sid>)
\usr\sap\<sid>\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386
\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\run
Now Check MMC

Hi again,
First of all thanks for your answers.
Ananda what you say is to start sap service, the central ABAP instance...I already did it, now I have only this ABAP system in sap console and I want to get the Java system...do you know how to start java service as sap service does??
Youvraj I did what you said but when jcontrol started I just had three options(not 5): 0,10,20 0 to exit, 10 to see cluster system (doesn´t work-> couldn´t reach message_server), 20 to local system (either worked-> no access to shared libs)...
Any idea??
Hi Daniel,
1. First check j2ee/cluster/* file system is there under DVEBMGSxx
2. Go to profiles directory
3. Execute command jcmon pf=<INSTANCE_PROFILE>
4. Here you'll get the status of dispatcher and server nodes.
5. Use option 3 or 5 and try to start the engine...it should work.

J2EE should start automatically when you start ABAP. Check the log files if J2EE is not stating. You can also use Txn. SMICM to restart J2EE.

Sanjeev
