Hello ,
I am trying to deploy a simple webdynpro application and get the following error:
"Cannot determine sdm host(is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly.".
WAS is a remote machine.
I have the NWDS window->preferences->SAP J2EE Engine-> Message server host/port or remote engine configured.
I tried working with the changes suggested earlier in the forum.
This is a new server machine address and my NWDS was installed earlier for another machine.Only change that I have done is to change the ip address and port but it still gives the same error.
Plz suggest.
Thanks
Gita
Hi Gita
Did you find a solution for your problem? I am experiencing exactly the same problem. Please can you tell me what the solution was?

Hi,
Give Engine details in the Preferences - It should show the server in Green colour. You can get J2EE Engine view from NWDS - window - Show View - J2EE Engine.
If you are using local j2ee engine, select 2nd radio button from Preferences - SAP J2EE Engine(J2EE Engine installed on local system)
Hope it is working for you.

Hey you can get the message server host and port number from the url
http:<hostname:portno>/index.html---->system configuration. You try to provide the message server host and port number from the info you get from there in the NWDS.
NOTE: to get those details you need to have proper credentials.
