SAP GUI does not remember previously viewed programs/tables

Good Morning,

The GUI at the new client I'm working for does not remember the programs or tables I viewed/opened using common transactions, eg.SE38 or SE16.

Is there a setting I can change to enable this? It is annoying to remember the names of every program I had to view & type them.

Thank you.

Select icon Customise Local Layout (ALT + F12) -on the right on icon bar

Select Options

Select tab Local Data

set radio button for History to On

Thanks Wojtek,

I looked at that option & I cannot click on any settings. Looks like Basis has disabled it

Is there any other way for this?

This is possible - very often it is disabled due to the security reasons.

If you want to hack it (assuming you have admin rights on your PC) : try to change values in registry:

HKCU\software\sap\SAPGUI Front\SAP Frontend Server\LocalData

Another option : create local user on your PC and run SAPGui as this local user. Domain GPO is not applied forwindows Local users - so also SAPGui restrictions for such user won't be applied.

I don't think creating a local user will help me much because I would not be able to access many other Client applications.

I'm trying to modify the registry as you suggested. Still figuring what needs to changed as I've never done this before.

Hi,

we had a similar problem.

The DLL responsible for the SAP History was missing after windows updates.

You are probably missing msjetoledb40.dll, which should reside under c:\winnt\system32\
