Hi,
I am using Windows XP, professional. Can I have multiple versions of SAP GUI e.g. 6.40 & 7.10 on one computer?
thanks,
B Patil
Hi,
yes, you can. It is possible when you use SAPGUI for Java. It is not clear if your question is about SAP GUI for Windows or for Java environment. I live with all released versions from 7.00 to 7.10 rev.2 installed on one computer. I believe that 6.40 version will work with Sun JRE 1.4.2, but I have not installed it yet.

Hi,
I think that this is not right and it should be changed to:
"Only one version of SAP GUI for Windows is possible."
I am almost sure that it is possible to install and run both types of GUI together.
I cannot check it now on my Windowsless computer, but a years ago one guy shows me such installation.

Hello,
in the mentioned document "SAP GUI" is used in some places as a shortening for SAP GUI for Windows, which is fine in most cases. However in this particular sentence, it really might cause confusion.
The one and only version is indeed related to SAP GUI for Windows. There are no known issues related to having multiple versions of SAP GUI for Java installed in parallel to SAP GUI for Windows on the same machine.
Best regards
Rolf-Martin
No, they cannot coexist because they would expect "their" versions of DLLs and other stuff in Windows/system32.
If you have to test n versions you need n computers or at least n XP installations on one computer.
