SAPOsCol failure

Hi All,

I am installing SAPNW2004sDevWorkplaceSR2Preview and getting the following error during installation:

ERROR 2008-01-14 11:36:16

FSL-06002 Error 1057 (The account name is invalid or does not exist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified.

) in execution of a 'StartService' function, line (1213), with parameter (SAPOsCol).

OS - Windows XP Professional SP2

When this error occurs the SAP installation is stopped and it shows error pop-up dialog. At this point I try to start SAPOsCol from Windows services screen. (Before this I make sure that security permissions for SAPOsCol are correct). Manual start of SAPOsCol also fails. In c:\usr\sap\prfclog\dev_coll I have the folloving messages:

Could someone clarify what may by wrong?

Hi Evgeniy,

As the error suggests "The account name is invalid or does not exist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified"

Check that the username password of the service is valid, then restart saposcol

Thank you for your reply!

That was the first thing that I suggested. SAPOsCol is configured in my system to be started under .\j2eadm user. I have checked permissions for j2eadm - it is configured as Administrator. I also tried to run it under 'Local System account' which is also in Administrators group. And this attempt is is also failing.

May it be something else except credentials problem?

don't think so.

have you reset the password of j2eadm... ? You can also try with your domain account (if you're local admin).

What in particular can mean message in c:\usr\sap\prfclog\dev_coll

Finally the problem was found - pdh.dll was absent it the system.
