8.1.7 is out of support, you ned to follow SAP note 578004 to complete the installation on Oracle 9.2

I know that point.

So is it not possible to solve this problem?

if you can start/stop the listener on os level, why not start it & finish the installation (first)?

does the installation usre have sufficient rights? how about the SAPSERVICE-user?

see I am using "DBR3CP.R3S" file for installation.means I need to restore the offline backup of my Production system after some step and then again I have to start the installation from that poit.will there be any impact afterwards?

is the listener up + running? if yes, did you restart/retry the installation?

is port 1527 already in use?

the listener is needed to establish a connection between the sap work processes and the database...if it does not start automatically (as a service) you can start it by hand and try to resolve the problem afterwards...
