Hi All,

I have a question on -https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/xi/3.0/a beginner's%20Guide%20to%20XI%20Settings.pdf

On Page 16, when we define I/B Interface, input message type should be MT_VENDOR_FILE right? I do not understand why we are taking inut message as ORDERS.ORDERS04?

Thanks,

Hi Ravi,

Always remember that when you talk about the interface direction, inbound and outbound, its reference to the Business System (BS) NOT XI. So, if the XI is receiving a IDOC from the R/3 System that will be OUTBOUND in the MI (Message Interface, although it might sound like its coming into XI but no. you have to always look at from the BS point of view rather than XI) within XI becuase its an outbound for the R/3 system(Business System). If anything is going into the Business System then it will be INBOUND in the MI in XI.

Hope this clarifies your query.

Cheers,

Ranjan

Hi ravi,

Yes it should be MT_VENDOR_FILE.

If you go to page 18, you can see that the target Interface name is "msgIF_INB_ASYNC_ORDERS". So it is in th FILE side, hence inbound.

Go ahead and complete your scenario
