If I have portal and BI and ECC running, and use ADS interactive formsdo I have to install java on my backend ECC system? or will Portal suffice?

portal J2EE should be fine if:
- it runs on a supported platfform for ADS: http://service.sap.com/PAM
- it has the same release as the the ECC system.
