Project Closing without settlement.

Hi ,

Can we close any project without carring out settlement ? If yes what will be the corresponding effects ?

Set the indicators to either 'Can be Settled' or 'Not for Settlement' in the Settlement Profile and use this profile. Projects/WBS's are only temporary cost capturing objects.

If you don't wish to allocate the costs to any receiver you don't settle it.

without Settlement actual costs incurred are posted to the corresponding cost centres/G/L Accnt in Finance,

e.g. when u do service entry sheet against workorder.

but Controlling docs are not generated ,unless u do settlement

In the reports which are based on project information data base (ex., Struture,hierarchy report) this wouldn't have any effect.

In Cost element and line item reports this would show the actuals (Debits). Had you done settlement, based on the config settings the you will see Credit on the settlement cost element or the original cost element.

Sorry I don't have any document on this.
