We've deployed several RF tranactions using SAP Console. Users of RF devices frequently see message "Connection Broken" displayed on screen of RF device. Sometimes, the telnet connection appears to have been terminated and the user must re-enter username and password. other times, user is able to continue without re-entering username and password. Any thoughts on what could be causing this problem? Thanks.
It is a common problem on any RF wireless application as is Web console. See following SAP OSS Notes from www.service.sap.com. It can be a problem due to old sessions not being terminated due to various reasons like a user going out of radio frequency range etc., Your support teams can also see transactions SM04, SM12 for terminating such zombie sessions.
