Hi Bala,

Billing document is used for creation, you could create invoices, debit and credit memos, cancellation etc.

the features of this billing document are

Automatic batch processing of the billing due list (vf04) in the back ground, it can be carried out perodically eg after 5pm automatically by the system.

Manual processing of the billing due list vf04

where as Invoicing is a document which states the invoice receipients obligations to the vendor or service provider.

An invoice is normally created after the goods receipt or service performance has been confirmed

In SAP billing document is Umbrella term used for invoices,Credit memos, debit memos, proforma invoices and all other cancellation documents.

Invoice is list of items provided or work done together with their cost, for payment done at later time.

Dear Bala

Both are same. The minor difference may be we can call invoice as either proforma invoice or commercial invoice whereas we will call only commercial invoice as billing document.

Thanks
