Can anyone suggest me why customer can only be created from SAP EASY ACCESS screen,and not from IMG path.

Dear gadi

Normally for transaction based codes, we use Easy Access Screen and for Customization / Configuration, we shuld follow the IMG path.

that is the difference between consultant and customer, a consultant congfigure the system as per customer requirement in SPRO and the end user mainatains his condition recors in easy aceess.

If iam right, Only configurations taken place in the SPRO or DYNAMIC Screen,Only Consultants will have authorizations here. Once configurations are over, customer will created.

Data maintanance is done in EASY ACCESS Sreeen, Not only for customer for any maintanance of data will done here only.

Hi

All the customisation is done through IMG (Implementation Guide). We customise Account Group and we do Partner determination procedure in IMG. Once the template is created for the customer master, a user can create any number of customers from easy access. If you need to make changes to the template, then through IMG we have to make changes( making the fields mandatory etc.,). Normally only consultants will have access to IMG and the users will have access only to Easy Access. Everything which is supposed to be done by endusers can be done through Easy Access.

Customer Creation is Master Data, which is normally created by end user. All Master Data are at SAP Easy Access level, instead of IMG, as IMG is concerned with Configuration.

Also, it will be unneccesary waste of space if master Data is created in Development, Test & production server, as it will be blocking the memory space & will impact system performance.

When we configure anything in IMG, Transport request is created & the same is imported to Test & production server, which require basis consultant. Incase of Master Data like Customer Master, Material master, Pricing Condition Record, Customer Material Info Record will be reqular activity & is created as per need only in the system in which we may require. We may have no master data or very little master data in development server, as it is golden client & configuration is done here. In test server, we may need some master data only fot testing the scenario's. But in Production server the requirement of master data may be use, as this is the server in which we do the actual transactions.

Hi,

This question can be explained by the example of a corporate

company:

Like a manufacturing company, produce a material X, so whatever modifications to be done in the material X can be done in its manufacturing unit, while the sellling of that material and the customer record has to be maintained by the customer relationship department and not be manufacturing department.

in the same way config is done in the spro screen which resembles the manufacturing unit, while easy screen resembles the customer relationship department.
