Use simple file transport. This way complete SWC can be transported.

or id it necessary to import SWCV from SLD for each environment

No SLD entry required at test system

Hi Vishnu,

How is your landscape? Each XI system is using separate SLD? In that case you have import the prodcut and SWC to the new systems SLD first. Then Tech and Bus Systems along with proper Transportation Targets. Then only you have to use CMS or File Transports to export the objects from one sys to another.

No Need to import SWCV each time from SLD, once you export the SWCV and then you import you will get this swcv in QA or Production box.

Hi Vishnu,

There are basically three types of transport mechanisms for transporting XI components:

i) File Transport Mechanism.

ii) CMS Transfer.

iii) CTS (ABAP) Transfer.

The easiest being FILE TRANSPORT MECHANISM but File transport system is object level transport system i.e. we cannot transport whole software component using this transport system but individual objects can be exported.

Right click on the SWCV .. click on EXPORT. This will transfer desired objects of your SWCV to the Export directory of your system. You will require administrator rights to access this particular directory and transfer it to the import directory of the desired target system.

Once this is done, you can IMPORT the desired object by clicking on Tools-->Import Objects.

Use the option TRANSPORT USING CMS to transfer entire SWCV.

Award points if useful.

Hi,

SLD Tranport:

if you login as the Admin to the SLD you will c the export and import in option....you have the option to export full SLD which includes all the BS,TS.....etc.....

you will have the necessity to tranport the SLD when you have more than 1 SLD in your landscape
