Tool for reading tables

I need to connect to several SAP systems and read the contents of a table. I want to fully automate the process, so I don't want to connect via SAPGUI or RFC connections.

Is there any small tool which can connect to sap systems

and read data from the database?

Hi Mark,

what to say against RFC? You can use it to fully automate this process. Write your own RFC enabled function module and use it with Java, PHP, .net. Have a look at my Weblog: <a href="/people/gregor.wolf3/blog/2004/09/05/access-sap-r3-from-external">Access SAP R/3 from External</a>. Anoter way is to write an ABAP program which extracts the Data to a file which you can use for input.
