Hi Experts,
I need your help to define Safety stock in no. of days.
Here is the situation.
SKU1 needs Powder1 as Raw material. SKU1 is produced at Factory1.
Powder 1 produced at Factory2.
I have to maintain safety stock of SKU1 at Factory1 and safety stock of Powder1 at Factort1 as well as Factroy2.
Now, I want to define 15 days Safety stock (it should average out next 60 days and multiply 15 to get safety stock value) for SKU1 at Factory1.
Similary for Powder1.
Which Safetry stock method i should use in Product-Location master? SZ or MZ?
In which field I should define 15 days?
My base uom is EACH.
Thanks in advance,
Vipul Shah
Hi
If it is always a fixed value of safety days (i.e. you always plan to 15 days) then use safety stock method SZ (safety days supply). The value of MZ is time dependant and requires you to enter the safety days value in a key figure in your planning book.
The value of 15 days is entered in the field "Safety Days' supply" in the section "Scheduling" on the tab "Lot Size" sub tab "Quantity and Date Determination" in the product-location master data record.
Hope this helps
Regards
Ian
