SMD server setup wizard error

Hi!

I am about to set up SMD functionality via SMD server setup wizard.

After executing the setup for the satellite systems I receive one warning:

Wilyhost Agent setup finished successfully with limitations: 1 exception occured. Number of WilyHost Agents: 1, number of EP Agents: 0

How to proceed in this case?

You mean to install ISAGENT71*.SAR on satellite side?

But in SAP note 797147 I have read, that I need it if I do not use SMD for setup...

No you do not have to deploy anything on the satellite system.

Except the SMD Agent of course.

You will have setup info here.

You have to forget this SAR when using Wily with Solman.

Try to restart the managed system (J2ee engine), and re run the wizard, selecting only the Wily host option.

Hallo Frederic,

thank you for your answer.

I have restarted both the managed as well the managing system and run the SMD setup again.

The result is the same: "yellow" --> Setup steps: 1 in warning Some Diagnostic applications may not work.

If I press "Quit" and go back to the initial picture of SMD setup, the appropriate solution is still "gray"

(At least one solution needs to be setup for Diagnostics).

Other issue:

Also it is not possible to set up Introscope Agent via (Application selection --> Introscope Agent)

The result is

"The landscape definition of the selected system is empty. Operation has been aborted"

It will be great to get some support...

Hi Thom,

May you check the detail of the error in the setup?

You can review it by looking the applications called Setup Results.

In parrallele, you should check the logs of the Agents

-> Agent Administration -> Agent Log Viewer, you should check the entry for SMDsystem.log and SMDAgentApplication.log.

Do you have any error involving SAPOsCol?

If this is the case, you may an issue with incompatible version of SAPOsCol.

You will find the information to solve it in note 797147, in the attachement IntroscopeFAQ.pdf, chapter 7.7.

Then if you apply the previous recommandation, and you can restart the setup, should be green for Wily Host task.

Hi Thom,

I had this error with SP13.

There is a tricky thing there, You need to run:

1- the Managed Setup Wizard (you get this warning)

2- run the Introscope Wizard (it will create the Group name in the VM params)

3- Restart the managed system, to get new Java VM params, populate from DM to instance.properties (bootstrap)

4- Rerun the Managed Setup Wizard by selecting only the Wily Host Agent action.

It should be ok, I hope it will be solved with next release.

This is Ajay. I too have done the configuration recently and faced the same issue. Its just a warning you can ignore it.

If you are more concerned abt it, you can just configure EP agent which you can find it in Setup Guide for solman.

Pls reward if its helpful.
