Most common reason:

Missing entry in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services

sapms<sid> 36<systemnumber>/tcp

For every system that you try to log on via load balancing using the message server you need a line in services.

Example: SID=PRD, Systemnumber=00

Line to add to services: sapmsPRD 3600/tcp

OK? Rudi

check SAP Note No. 882741.

if you installed Messenger 7.0 or 7.5, you might have issues related to registry key HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\Parameters\DatabasePath

being was changed from REG_EXPAND_SZ to REG_SZ.
