After installing 4.7 the dispatcher is getting stopped

hi gurus, i am installing 4.7 after installation i got the message like successfully complted , when iam trying to start the MMC but the dispatcher is getting stopped please check this log -

hi ppl,

i am a new to this forum and new to SAP Basis. i am a fresher.

i faced the same above problem after installing R3 4.7EE ides.

this is what i tried and solved my dispatcher problem.

step1: cmd----dpmon

step2: go to menu selecting "m"

step3: select "work-process-admin-table" by selecting "p"

step4: all the work process are set to "NO" status in the column "cause start". we need to make it "YES" setting the flag. ie by slecting "r"' "enter" and then work process number in the first column table and "enter".

step5: make all the work processes to yes status. this should make your dispatcher work.

this worked for me.

Hi Raj,

Are you installed 4.7 a Fresh? The problem here is with the login to the database? These problem arise when you do a database copy. Fresh installation do not have any issue like these... Well.. After installation have you changed any password ?

What is your ORASID. ( eg. PRD, QAS, DEV). Also check in the envionment variable. Try to login to windows with SIDADM user. check

Go to command prompt and type C:>SET

check the dbs_ora_scheme. It should be SAP<SID>.

If not change it.

SAP should start normally then. BEST OF LUCK...

Hi

First stop the saposcal ,sapsid_00 services

Try to change password of sidadm , sapservice

Right click on my computer>select manage>click on local users and Groups>users>right side you will find sidadm user right click on that user,set the new password

restart the saposcal,sapsid_00 services, then start the server with MMC.

why that?

operating system user password do not have to do any thing with database users passwords.

it looks very much like somebody has copied a database to his installation an is now trying to use it with his installed sap kernel.

see note 400241 for more detailed information as already mentioned here.

Oracle 8i is also LONG out of support (even longer than your kernel)

4.7 is also out of support.

I assume you're trying to install on Windows 2003, right? Oracle 8i does not work on Windows 2003....

So:

Get a current installation (why not use the Netweaver version available here on the SDN?) and start with that. It's pointless trying to 'learn SAP' with ancient obsolete software.
