The route consists of stages and legs.
"Stage" can be defined as the points where the goods need to be delivered and the leg is the distance between two "stages".

Hello Kumar,
In simple words in SAP :
Leg: Total distance .(Starting Point till end point)
eg: we start from pt A then went to B and C and finally reached D
then LEG will be the total distance covered from A to D.
Stage : in above example A B C D are the different stages.
I hope its clear now.
Regards,
Nisha

hi,
Stages contain information about the geographical factors for a shipment. Stages can be the basis for calculation of shipment costs, in addition to their other functions. Transport stages can include:
Legs
A starting point and end point is defined. For example, you can define main, preliminary, and subsequent legs.

In a main leg shipment all the deliveries are assigned to all
the stages.
