How to update R3trans an TP-Tool

Hello,

is it possible to update r3trans an tp without doing a complete Kernel update?

I want to install a new Addon which needs a higher version of r3trans.

I´ve donloaded the newest tp & r3trans from the marketplace, stopped the system, replaced the old files with the new ones.

But when i start the SAP system again, somebody (don´t know who) replace the NEW files with the OLD files?

How can that be?

The missing letters comes from copy!!!

I donu00B4t know where the problem is. The dbsdbslib.dll is there in the specified path.

Also it worked bevor i modified the tp and r3trans

The system is looking for dbADAslib.dll, not for dbSDBslib.dll...

Are you sure you updated with the correct version?

Yes i'm sure that it is the right version. I cheched it two times now

you must set environement varaible "dbms_type" to SDB

then, restart your instance.

the environment variable has not changed anything.

We now made a complete kernel upgrade. Now it works!

Apparently you put them into the wrong directory. An instance has a special directory where the binaries are copied from. If you copy them directly to \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\run they will get overwritten.

SAP start now without overwrite the new files.

But now i´ve got another problem. When i want to install the ADDON i get the following message:
