Does a webservice requires any settings for single sign on ?

No. Your webservice will not have any relation with SSO. SSO is for the components inside XI. Without SSO you have enter your userid and pwd whenever you move from one component to another within XI. With this you dont have this problem. You enter once your userid and pwd and from there SSO will take care.
I dont find any issue with the webservice to SSO.
