I am facing problem in our production server, we are not able to take online backup

and archieve backup

ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

BR0007I End of offline redo log processing: adwzhexy.svd 2008-01-07 07.45.59

BR0280I BRARCHIVE time stamp: 2008-01-07 07.45.59

BR0005I BRARCHIVE terminated with errors

Please guide me the rectification

ok if you are using windows ... please check if the user is in the win-group "ORA<SID>OPER".

Hello Shishir,

please logon to your server as ora<SID> and check if the user is member of the group "oper".

Your user should look like this (maybe some more groups are added):

> shell> id

> uid=241(ora<SID>) gid=302(dba) groups=301(oper)

If not add the user to this group.
