sapnwrfc and ruby...how do I turn off the trace file?

I've been successfully playing around with Ruby on Ubuntu.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to turn off the trace file. Every script generates a trace file when it runs. I've set the 'trace' parameter to 0 without success.
Does anyone know how to turn off the trace file?

AFAIK that cannot be done...It's not a problem of the Ruby Connector but of the SAPNW SDK...
