Hi all,
Here is a simple requirement:
Update SAP Component Repository in SLD
I am initiating this thread focussing on impact assessment of doing above mentioned exercise (only XI use cases).
While I understand there is no explicit downtime requirements of this task, has anyone studied the impact on XI runtime during the update?
Taking an example of importing Model version 1.5.20 (cimsap1418_0-10003379.zip), I find that SLD 'browser user interface' freezes for the duration of import (say 2 hrs.).
Obviously my thoughts rotate around questions like how XI runtime communicates with SLD (HTTP / RFC etc.) and whether this communication is impacted during update.
For me, this will be important to know, to run updates in production environments and ensure minimal impact (if at all).
rgds,
Praveen
Hello,
Importing stuff into SLD will have some performance effect to the systems that are trying to communicate with SLD like XI , Netweaver or any 6.4+ systems.
It is a best practice to do SLD updates during off hours (or weekends)when there is very little load to the systems.
