PI Post installation question, regarding SLD

Former Member

I'm having an issue with my PI installation for the training lab.

I've installed Soulution manager with an SLD, and configured it to be the central SLD according to the Netweaver Monitoring set up guide.

Now I have installed PI and I am trying to configure the SLD.

During the installation I configured it to use the central SLD on the Solution manager system.

I am trying to find out if I need to configure an SLD on the PI system and bridge it to the central SLD.

Is this even possible since I did not tell it to create a local SLD during installation?

Or is it ok to keep one SLD, (the central one on the solution manager system)?

When I log on to the local (PI) SLD, I get the message

"SLD not configured; configure the SLD in Administration first"

So, I log on to NWA and under Deploy and Change, the SLD system configuration defaults to the central SLD.

How should I follow the NWA steps for configuration?

If I choose to keep one SLD, on the SolMan server, do I take the defaults?

If I want to set up as separate one on PI server, do I change these?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

You can keep one SLD (which is recommended) of solman.

While installing PI installer will ask whether you want to have local SLD or want to use existing one.

Choose "Existing" option and give reference to Solman SLD.

After installing PI run template installer from netweaver portal and it will configure SLD for you.

I hope I clarify your doubts.

Thanks Gourav. That makes sense. I just wanted to be sure before I moved forward.
