Applying BW Patch on Solution Manager

Former Member

Hello Experts,

I have few doubts:

1. How to apply BW patch (BI 7.0)on Solution Manager(3.0 or higher)

2. If we apply BW patch on SM, how does it differentiate from BW system(Data Model, Reporting etc)

3. Are there any websites or pdf files for SM with BI Patch.

4. And, why do we need to apply apply BI patch on Solution Manager?

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,

Thangjam

hi,

BI is for only for reporting purpose - Solution Reporting.

BI add is not rquired for E2E diagnostics. The comment that it stores data in cubes is totally wrong.

Download BI CONT 7.03 from marketplace and apply using SPAM/SAINT.

This will solve your problem.

Feel free to revert back.

Believe it or not: E2E Diagnostics (SolManDiag) IS storing data withing InfoCubes (e.g. 0SMD_EA_H).

You may also refer to the setup guide: |https://websmp105.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700001121752007E]

Hi,

Now I'm getting a slight picture & understanding of my doubts...

Also, can you please enlighten me on my Question. 4.

Secondly, the BI reports that I run on SM gives me inconsistent data as compared to the data in the info-provider...how do I avoid this?

Thanks in advance.

Thangjam.

Hi Thanghim,

to 4:

for E2E Diagnostics it si only supported to have BI in the same system ID than SolMan - thus, BI should be up-to-date with patches

I don't know about inconsistencies. How did you spot them ?

Hi Thangjam,

I have only some infos for SolMan 4.0:

- there is no difference between patching a 'stadalone BI' and a BI that is part of SolMan

- of coruse, you have to make sure that the patch queues are consistent (CRT: ST)

- for E2E Diagnostics, InfoCubes are used to store performance data, etc. (as of SolMan 4.0 SP 13)

Kind regards,

Bernd
