Installation of Wily Introscope for SMD on Windows

Hi!

I am about to set up the SMD functionality.

First of all I would like to install the Introscope Enterprise Server 7.1 on Windows (32 bit).

If try to start Introscope Enterprise Manager I get the following error:

EM Web Server did not start. Port already in use: 8081 To change the Web Server port, modify the EM property: introscope.enterprisemanager.webserver.port

If I change the port in file C:\usr\sap\ccms\wilyintroscope\config\IntroscopeEnterpriseManager.properties

I get the same error...

How to proceed in this case?

Hi Thom,

8080 is the default port for stadalone WebView, 8081 for Workstation WebView.

You may check with

netstat -an | grep <port>

if a port is in use or not.

Hi Bernie,

I solved this issue. The problem was that some other Wily Introscope version was installed on the machine, so I have removed the old installation.

Are you familiar with the whole installation of SMD, Wily Introscope?

I downloaded the agent files for the satellite systems. What are the next steps?

Where I should install these files on the SOLMAN-Machine or on the machine of satellite system.

I have as satellite system SAP SRM …

Agent should be installed onto satellite system.

You must use the wizard provided by Diagnostics.

Hi,

I am also facing the same issue while starting Introscope Entraprise Manager. i.e " port already in use:8081 change the property introscope.entraprisemanger.webserver.port "

If I check the for Introscope service

bash-3.00# ps -ef | grep Intro

sm1adm 12666 12662 0 11:52:07 ? 0:00 /usr/dt/bin/dthelpview -helpVolume Intromgr

root 12817 10056 0 12:04:21 pts/1 0:00 grep Intro

And following is the output for port 8081

bash-3.00# netstat -a | grep 8081

*.8081 . 0 0 49152 0 LISTEN

Please tell me how to rectify the issue..

Hi!

Please deregister other installation of Wily and/or reinstall the agent.

This was the solution in my case.

Please award points if it will solve your problem.
