How to use adaptive RFC model outside of SAP's app server?

Hello,

In Web Dynpro there is an option to import an adaptive RFC model and then call it's functions. This is done relatively easy with the NWDS wizard.

I have written an idependant Java application that is not sitting on SAP's application server.

My question is: Is it possible, using RMI API for example to connect to the Java/ABAP stack of SAP's app server and activate a certain adaptive RFC model?

I think all CMI models are specific to and targeted at WD applications.
