Hi Padmaja,

We cannot make any scenario without products , software catalog and business and technical systems .

For any scenario either you have to create these objects or you will have to use the existing one if it is meeting the client's business requirement.

As a SAP XI Developer we will not create, The Basis Team will Create products , software catalog and business and technical systems

Hi Padmaja,

Yes we need to create the landscape objects before design or configuration of any interface.

Just think... we create design objects under SWCV's.

now we have to create SWCV in SLD and later need to import in IR.Actually BASIS people mainly do that...

No to create SWCV u have to create product,component.

now i guess u r little clear

purpose of SLD:

The System Landscape Directory of SAP NetWeaver (SLD) serves as a central information repository for your system landscape. A system landscape consists of a number of hardware and software components that depend on each other with regard to installation, software updates, and demands on interfaces.

Ususally developer not create all of the above its a BASIS responsibilty to create.
