Installation KERNEL DVD help

Hi all,

I have a problem here with the Kernel DVD's.. I am installing SolMan 4.0 SR1 non-unicode on Windows

and MySQL

When I am asked to provide a path to "Kernel NW04sSR1" media, I provide the path to media number SAP NW2004S_UC_KERNEL_ 700 which I have got .

And i am getting

The label that is requested by SAPinst is "SAP:AKK:700:UKERNEL::WINDOWS_I386:"

If i want this DVD where can i get from ? I try tried in the service market place but cant find any.

Please help me regarding this how to get the DVD from.

And here in my case I have to look for SR1 N/W 2004s for windows.

Can you help me to find out which one i have to choose.

Hi Vamsi,

The SM 4.0 SR1 is not availabel to download at market place, You have to give order to SAP or contact your account manager of SAP for the DVD's.

Yes vamsi, you can.

SR2 is the advanced version of SR1, there is always downward compatibility for any advanced version so no need to worry about SR1 or SR2 you can install SR2.

I am doing a non unicode installation of SOLMAN 4.0 with windows and Mysql and the system is prompting me to locate

SR1 SAP:AKK:700:UKERNEL::WINDOWS_I386

Can you please sujjest me what can i select from above available ones.

As I am unable to find out.

And one more question is what is the difference between U and UC ?

I would neither go for 32bit (you will run into lots of memory configuration issues) nor would I go for non-unicode (see note 975768 - Deprecation of Java features with non-Unicode Backend).

MySQL? you mean SAPDB/MaxDB? Or do you mean Microsoft SQL Server?

Sorry its Microsoft SQL server.

Can you please suggest me from the available downloads which I can choose that i have mentioned earlier in the 3rd post.

As in my case instalation is asking for

NW04s SR1 UKERNEL 7.00 for Windows_I386

as this perticular one is not available from service market place the ones i mentioned in earlier post is only available.

Please help me.

There are two different Kernel CDs, one for doing upgrades and one for doing installation. What you need is the CD number

although, according to the note I mentioned in my previous post, the combination your run is not supported (Non-ABAP backend).
